the lost outfits
it’s been a while since i’ve posted on the blog. while part of the reason is because i really haven’t had much to say, it’s honestly mostly due to the fact that i have been really discouraged about losing my hard drive. i know i don’t want to belabor the point anymore but losing 40,000 photos of not only client and personal photos but my final project for my photography program really hurt…like reeeeeeally hurt. i felt like i lost an arm and it just took me a while to really come to terms with the fact that it’s never going to come back…i know, dramatic but whatever. of the 40,000 photos, there were 11 outfits that still had yet to be published. thankfully one outfit was already prepped in the drafts to be published so i only really lost 10.
for whatever reason, it takes me a million years to go through my own photos and publish them to the blog (which is why some of these photos actually date back to december!) but i will randomly edit and post a select few to instagram. this means that i have a few high resolution edits on my phone so not every unpublished outfit was a total loss. in addition to these random edited photos, i also have photos that i’ve taken on my phone of these outfits in my lightroom catalog that serves like a to-do list (does that make sense?). i do this so i stay organized of what outfits still need to be published and then delete them from my phone as they are posted to the blog.
while i could just call all of these outfits a loss and move on, they kept hanging over my head as unfinished business. i felt like i still needed to share them instead of hiding them away and never letting them see the light of day. with that being said, i’ve decided to publish the randoms and lightroom catalog snapshots to help me close the chapter on that hard drive and move on. and please keep in mind that while some of these were edited and published to instagram, the photos from my lightroom were most definitely not haha!
so without further ado….
