one of my favorite things about the holidays are the opportunities to dress up! even if you’re overdressed for the dinner party, people just get it during this time of year! while i won’t officially be wearing this dress until an event back in michigan in january, this dress initially caught my eye for the annual met holiday party. i ended up re-wearing this dress from over the summer with a turtleneck underneath just because i wasn’t able to get the dress hemmed in time (but i obviously wanted to keep it long for these photos because #drama).

draw the line

after two amazing but very cold trips (woodstock and kennebunkport) i was desperately in the market for some sun! so ashley, emily and i decided to head over to the cutest southern town that has been on my bucket list for as long as i can remember: savannah! while packing i knew i just needed an explosion of color and prints to really jump both feet into southern weather so this wrap skirt was one of the first pieces thrown into the suitcase. this winter has been never ending so it was incredibly refreshing to not have to wear my coat...even though i brought it just in case it got cold later in the evening! spoiler alert: it didn't. stay tuned for more posts from my trip to the south!

no sleep till glitter

another christmas has come and gone and now without a holiday left in the holiday season, we are just left with winter. this chrsitmas, i had such a wonderful and relaxing few days with my family out in the hamptons but now it's time to have some much needed fun! thankfully there is a holiday encore with the one and only new years eve! queue the sequins!! i am normally not a nye person...i know shocking right!? but this year i have some pretty cool plans that i can't help but shout from the rooftop! i will be heading to the rainbow room to ring in the new year and i am already frantically trying to come up with an outfit!

vienna // early bird

hello vienna! after an amazing week in paris with andrea, i was so excited to meet up with my mom in the capital of austria! when planning, we needed to pick a location that had both enough fall foliage for yours truly with a mix of history and art for my mom...and vienna seemed like the perfect decision. immediately when we got off of the plane, we checked into the palais coburg (we were very unimpressed but i will get into that some other time) and headed right to albertina museum to check out the raphael exhibit. my mom could have stayed there for hours (and she did) so i stopped in for a bit but then left her to go get a blowout - you know, priorities - because i knew what time i needed to wake up the next morning.

pearly whites

"lizzie mcguire, you are an outfit repeater!!" does anyone else flash back to this scene from the lizzie mcguire movie every time they re-wear an outfit?? ...or is that just me. and i'm not going to lie, that after thinking of this quote, i started watching the full movie. thank god for netflix! but before i get too distracted, the main reason i'm re-wearing this temperly london dress (that i wore in charleston last summer) was because it was the perfect pair with this year's latest trend: pearls! after seeing these earrings on jenny from margo & me, i stalked the website for months before they were finally released and i was able to snag myself a pair. and it was then that i realized this would be the start of an extensive pearl collection.
