happy friday everyone! and more importantly, a happy black friday! i hope everyone had a wonderful thanksgiving yesterday but now the fun really begins: the countdown to chirstmas! while everyone is very excited to take advantage of holiday deals and deep discounts, i will spread the same message that i do every year. it’s a reminder to those who are choosing to do their shopping today in the stores, remember to be extra, extra, extra nice and patient to the sales associates and staff members. they have to work incredibly long and stressful hours today and who knows what time they had to get up this morning to get to work. and typically, the time retail workers get to spend with their families is cut short so just be aware of that before you think someone is moving a little slower than you would like (*cough looking at you new yorkers cough*).Read More
a few weeks ago, dana, elle, and i made the easy one-hour drive from nyc to fishkill farms to partake in my favorite basic-girl fall activity: apple picking! but to be honest, as much as i love myself a good orchard, i was really there for the cider and doughnuts. i have no shame. so we made sure to pick up a box before adventuring into their massive orchards so we could snack on them along the way. that was probably our best decision of the day!Read More
happy wednesday everyone!
with my photography program in full swing and my shooting schedule being so busy, i have basically been living in jeans for the past 3 months with my hair almost always in a bun. although i will say i was in the darkroom last week in this tulle skirt and i had no complaints…but i made sure to wear the largest apron i could find haha it was truly a sight to see! aside from that exception though, comfort has been key for me these days. you will always find me now in comfy slides and oversized shirts!
but don’t worry too much though! with the holidays fast approaching, the cocktail dresses and midi skirts will be back before you know it!
coat: golden goose deluxe brand
top: kate spade (also love the navy)
rings: gorjana (#1 and #2), alex and ani
necklaces: cariter, shashi
without a doubt this is my favorite time of year: when you have the possibility of wearing a super cute coat or just the fuzziest, most oversized sweater and call it a day! and one of my go-to pairings this season has been a cropped sweater with some kind of skirt (see here from my trip to vermont!). so when i saw this sweater, i knew i wanted to pair it with another pastel hue so this skirt was just what i needed!
sweater: 3.1 phillip lim
skirt: max mara (also love this option)
shoes: kate spade (old)
bag: louis vuitton (similar here and here)
earrings: vintage chanel
sunglasses: max mara
with fall officially in full swing, i can finally bring out all of my layers! and let me tell you it has seemed like forever since i have been able to strut around the city in a jacket or coat and not be uncomfortably hot. thankfully on one of my shoot days with lydia a few weeks ago it was cool enough to sport this matching set in soho…and i think you can tell how happy i was! and of course, it didn’t hurt that this suit was under $150!Read More
with the surplus of bloggers and influencers now controlling newsfeeds everywhere, there will always be a standout few where i constantly draw inspiration from. one of those inspirations being none other than blair eadie (who coincidentally launched her collection at nordstrom in partnership with halogen yesterday!). at the beginning of august, while hiding from the sun in the hamptons with dana, blair popped up on my feed wearing this dress and dana and i instantly knew we both needed it! and i don’t think i need to mention how easy our decision was since the dress was $95. yup $95.
within seconds…okay fine, days…i started seeing this dress appear on my feed more and more and each time i fell more and more in love with it! it seemed that everyone from petites to plus were rocking this dress and putting their own spin it: essentially making this the sisterhood of the traveling dress!Read More
with the craziness of my photography program, plus this crazy side hustle, i’m up to my eyeballs in work. it’s definitely a good kind of crazy but i will be the first one to tell you i need a day off! or even just a nap haha!
but i’m so happy to finally be posting one of my favorite gal meets glam dresses from the september collection…at one of my favorite spots in the west village! and while the temperatures may now be a little too cold to wear by itself, i am excited to pair this beauty with either brown or green boots and a fabulous trench! stay tuned!Read More
i am fully aware that i keep saying this but i am so behind on my photos! especially now that my photography program is in full swing at icp, my free time for my own photos is basically non-existent at this point. so i’m finally able to feature one of my favorite and comfiest dresses of the summer! i wore this dress out east when i escaped the craziness of nyfw this season with ashley…oh yeah and it has pockets!
because i’m basically up to my eyeballs in work, i’m keeping this post short and sweet! so enjoy! hahaRead More
i know, i know…it’s no longer hydrangea season…but hey! better late than never! when i got back from my trip to rome, i found myself essentially drowning in unpublished content, which i’m aware is not necessarily the worst problem to have but i just couldn’t keep up with it all! so instead of powering through and editing all of the photos, i just let them sit there and procrastinated. i procrastinated so much that i am now posting an outfit from july…and would you believe me if i told you my last post was taken back in may??? oopsies.Read More
i know it probably comes as a shock, but i actually wear jeans allllllll the time, especially when i’m photographing. and as much as i love my luxury and designer pieces, about a year and a half ago, i told myself i was never going to buy a pair of designer jeans again…because no matter how great of quality they were, they inevitably got destroyed. lesson learned!Read More
tomorrow is the day we have all been waiting for…the first day of fall! i cannot tell you how excited i am to finally break out my sweaters and jackets! however, mother nature still wants to pretend like it’s summer for the next few weeks. so i guess the cashmere will have to wait. i don’t entirely mind though because this gives me the chance to squeeze in a few more summer dresses before the leaves start to change!Read More
with the end of summer nearing, i’m trying to squeeze in my last few floral dresses. so when i went home to detroit a few weeks ago, i carved out just enough time to photograph this kate spade dress (first seen on my instagram here) from my favorite view of detroit…in canada! so i grabbed my passport and headed across the river to windsor, ontario to get these photos at sunset.
while most passing people in new york are used to the typical blog shoot, the residents of windsor were not quite sure what to make of it so to say i got a lot of looks would be an understatement haha! but it was all worth it because these are some of my favorite photos i’ve taken while back home!Read More
happy tuesday everyone! i hope everyone had a wonderful labor day yesterday but unfortunately the time has come to put away all things white...
haha jokes on jokes!
but in all seriousness, my whites are not being put away for quite some time! thankfully this white gal meets glam dress is in my closet and will be incredibly versatile even when the seasons change. and of course i had to pair it with my favorite pearl tote to coordinate with the pearl detailing on the dress. pearl overkill? i think not!
now let's just continue the countdown to fall!Read More
yesterday on the blog, i shared the look i wore to andrea's wedding and it only seemed appropriate that i share the outfit i wore to her rehearsal dinner as well! seeing as i was going to be drinking and eating all night, i knew i wanted to be comfy. aka i wanted to find the flowy-est of flowy dresses there was. and i'm pretty sure i nailed it with this polka dotted number. while admittedly it is not the most flattering thing i've ever worn here on this blog...it is without a doubt the comfiest and i'm so happy i wore it as the food at the dinner did not disappoint!Read More
whenever i'm on vacation, it's already a given that i will be waking up at 4:00am to be shooting by sunrise. yet i almost always refuse to do the same thing when i'm home in new york. so when i finally got my booty out of bed (and lydia's) before the crack of dawn for this shoot, i was pretty proud of myself! last time i braved the early wakeup call for the bridge was almost a year and a half ago but because it was during the winter, the sunrise wasn't at as quite a painful time. and sidebar, i still love that skirt i wore and cannot wait to wear it again for the holidays!Read More
this shoot was one that i had been dying to finally get the chance to do. two years ago, i stumbled upon a little piece of provence out in long island but never got a chance to make the trek out to the north fork of the island where lavender by the bay is located. then last year when i was finally able to coordinate my schedule with dana, the lavender was gone for the season! i was devastated (i mean dramatic but still). so i was determined to never miss this one again...aka i wrote it down in my calendar last year and the waiting game began. what seemed like an eternity later, dana, elle and i finally headed out the second weekend in july when i knew the lavender was going to be at its peak and it did not disappoint!Read More
something that has always been true about myself is that i have always loved dressing up. i even think part of the reason that i worked at kate spade for so long (on and off for about 5 years!), was because dressing up and wearing a cocktail dress to work wasn't out of the ordinary - in fact, it was weird if you didn't! thankfully i still have this blog as an excuse to continue dressing as extra as i can be and feel validated when i waltz into a vineyard wearing a gingham ballgown.Read More
we've been having some pretty miserable weather here in nyc but thankfully i have been escaping to the hamptons for the last few weekends! and i almost always have to drag dana out with me...but it doesn't take much convincing haha! when i'm out east, i very seldom take my camera out and work but when i got this rhode resort dress in, i couldn't help but shoot it while the hydrangeas were in bloom!Read More
