it's time to go to work with nora gardner

working is hard and sometimes it feels like dressing for work has become just as hard. as many of you know, i work in retail so i am running around all day. literally running. fun fact about my job: i walk on average about 10 miles a day and climb 30 flights of stairs...no need for a gym membership! but with all that running around in one of the largest department stores all day, comes the need to be comfortable while still being fashionable.

i was first introduced to nora gardner a few weeks ago with an invitation to visit their nyc pop-up shop right in midtown with dana. the whole concept of cute and comfy work-wear intrigued me! we were greeted by nora herself and the history behind her brand is truly inspiring. coming from a career on wall street, nora saw a void in the women's work-wear industry. there were slim options for working women that were professional, easy, comfortable, and fashionable! so it was goodbye wall street and hello fashion ave!

i couldn't help but feel empowered as i tried on all of the different options in the shop. as i can only wear black while i'm at work, my eye kept going to all of the little black dresses. although i ended up going with this sleeved black dierdra dress (and had it hemmed just a pinch), i also loved this dress and this dress.

i wore my newest lbd at work the very next day and i received so many compliments from coworkers and customers! i added just a pop of texture with the belt to make the waist more defined and the black and white coat was perfect to keep is fun yet professional.
