the great divide

i love nordstrom as much as the next person. they always have an amazing variety of brands at all price points and of course, their return policy is unlike any other. but i would be perfectly happy if i never had to see another email about the nordstrom anniversary sale. and add that to the countless bloggers and overall general public posting about the sale, i felt like i was being pulled in a million different directions before the sale even began. needless to say, this is not my favorite time of the year.

but let's be honest; the reason bloggers and influencers post so excessively about the annual event is because, as jacey so simply put it, it generates a good chunk of income through our affiliate links! so this year, i was torn: to post, or not to post? and i think we all know by now that the answer to that question for me was not to post.

so why didn't i post?

i chose not to post about the sale simply because i personally don't shop it! i'm a firm believer in only recommending the products and brands that i love and want to buy for myself and the nordstrom sale has yet to offer something that truly wows me. and i really don't need to buy another cashmere cardigan to add to my collection that 50 other bloggers also have. my own preferences to the nordstrom sale are not intending to put down any blogger who as posted about the sale because there are truly some great finds! especially for those willing to wake up at the crack of down to scroll through countless pages of products...more power to you! only lord knows that i will only get out of bed that early if there is bacon involved.

my favorite nordstrom sale posts:

with all of that being said, there were some posts that truly stuck out to me like jenn's post where she looks efforlessly chic in each of her curated outfits. and can we take a moment to look at how kaite's post was organized to perfection!?! now that is impressive!

will i ever post about the nordstrom extravaganza?

i'm not sure! i will always be divided this time of year but i never know what the selection is going to look like next year. i'm drawn to unique pieces that i feel express my individuality so if i find those types of clothing in the sale next year, you all will be the first to know! in the meantime, i'm just going to keep on doing me and share the details of my non-nordstrom outfit (except the shoes).
