crystal clearwater
a while back, andrea, amanda, and i decided that we needed to escape the new york city cold and head down to warmer weather for a much needed girls trip! we were so honored to be partnering with the wyndham grand clearwater to make our winter retreat possible and to say we were blown away would be an understatement!
growing up in michigan, florida was always the go-to destination for the “snow birds” in the winter so i am no stranger to the sunshine state. my family and i loved going to the keys, miami, palm beach (just to name a few), and most recently naples, but i’ve never explored the clearwater or tampa, areas before this trip! when we touched down at the tampa airport, we were greeted by a car and made the short 30 minute drive to clearwater beach. we walked into the lobby and the sweetest staff checked us in. while, our room wasn’t quite ready, we popped into ocean hai and feasted on an incredible lunch! i honestly think we spend about two and a half hours there just eating, chatting, and relaxing.
with full stomachs, we grabbed our keys and headed to our room…oh sorry, i mean mansion!!! when i say this room was the most insane and incredible room i’ve ever stayed in, i mean it! we walked into a foyer with a staircase to our main level (of course there was also a private elevator, duh) complete with two living spaces, a dining room, full sized kitchen, washer/dryer, three (yes, three) bedrooms, three and a half baths (the master had a spa worthy tub), and a terrace overlooking the gulf that was 100% bigger than my entire apartment. i never wanted to leave.
the girls and i wasted absolutely no time getting settled and promptly changed into our swimsuits to head to the beach.
to be honest, the beach is where we spent most of our time because it’s just something we never have access to in the city…well good ones at least. the second i stepped onto the sand, all of the stress in my body just went away - poof! this sand for whatever reason, was like silk on my feet and i could not get enough of it. but don’t worry, even though i could have stayed there all day, every day, my spf 100 would not have lasted very long haha!
even the area of clearwater beach was fun, colorful, and laid back. we explored along the docks to check out all of the touring boats available for the tourists and there was also a wine and seafood festival happening just down the street!
having these few days in clearwater, gave me the perfect break right before the madness of the holidays. we ended out trip with a visit to the pallavi spa for a soothing salt bed treatment and a mini hydrofacial that cleaned my face better than anything before! i was so relaxed but this trip truly reenergized me! at the wyndham grand, i dipped my feet in the ocean, brunched on our oversized balcony, got the best night’s sleep (sans nyc noise), and ate to my heart’s content. i highly, highly, recommend staying at the wyndham grand whenever your travels take you to clearwater beach!
