five road trips to take this fall

it's the year of the road trip! with travel so understandably different, i've been looking back at past trips that i've loved and a great escape from nyc. while it's important to follow the guidelines per state, i wanted to round up five of my favorite fall road trips if you're able to visit!

1. upstate new york: heading upstate is a favorite for new yorkers as there are so many amazing little cities to visit. i visited hudson last year with carter and we soaked up all the fall foliage while we could! upstate new york is also abundant with awesome restaurants, wineries, shopping and hiking.

2. newport, rhode island: while normally a summer spot, visiting newport in the fall is still always a good idea. ocean house is one of the most breathtaking hotels in the country and i love the idea of a cozy fall weekend by the beach so highly recommend splurging here for a visit!

3. woodstock, vermont: i visited woodstock while it was snowy so it's definitely a spot i would recommend when looking for a charming, cozy town. enjoy fall colors, a gorgeous hotel and a long drive to this upstate town!

4. stowe, vermont: stowe is another vermont favorite for fall thanks to the small town charm. after exploring the town and views, head back to the hotel to cozy up by the fire and relax!

5. kennebunkport, maine: as i said with newport, i love visiting a beach town in the fall or winter as there's something so magical about being by the water then. there's so many amazing dining experiences here as well so come hungry!
