the best purchase i’ve ever made

throughout the past year, i’ve really tried to make a conscious effort to re-wear a lot of the pieces in my closet. as a self-diagnosed shopaholic, this is definitely harder than it sounds. whenever i have a dinner or event, my first instinct is to begin shopping for a shiny new outfit instead of shopping in my own closet. but while this challenge to myself is definitely daunting, there is one piece that I purchased last year that has made the task infinitely easier: this blazer from blair eadie’s collection with halogen last year.

blazer: halogen x atlantic-pacific (old)
dress: lela rose
shoes: christian louboutin
bag: zara
bracelets: cartier
hat: gucci
sunglasses: illesteva

the good old brooklyn bridge

whenever i'm on vacation, it's already a given that i will be waking up at 4:00am to be shooting by sunrise. yet i almost always refuse to do the same thing when i'm home in new york. so when i finally got my booty out of bed (and lydia's) before the crack of dawn for this shoot, i was pretty proud of myself! last time i braved the early wakeup call for the bridge was almost a year and a half ago but because it was during the winter, the sunrise wasn't at as quite a painful time. and sidebar, i still love that skirt i wore and cannot wait to wear it again for the holidays!

dress: lela rose
shoes: kate spade
bag: kate spade
earrings: tory burch
bracelets: cartier

a night at the ballet

while in vienna, the one thing at the top of my to-do list was to go to the opera house. the only problem? i'm not the biggest fan of opera itself. thankfully the opera house also houses the ballet and as a former ballerina, there was no hesitation when we purchased the tickets! knowing that i would be attending the ballet at the prestigious opera house, i of course had to come up with the perfect outfit. i had originally purchased this dress as a contender for the veuve clicquot polo classic in los angeles but decided against it as it was just a little bit too formal for the occasion. i'm so thankful i saved it for vienna as i truly felt like a ballerina!

an american in paris

oh paris i missed you so much!! it had been two years since i was last in the city of lights and words cannot describe how eager i was to get back! for those of you who may not know, paris has a very special place in my heart. i first visited paris with my family when i was in middle school when i barely knew the phrase "je vourdrais un croissant" but that didn't stop me from instantly falling in love with it. i then made a stop here for two weeks with a youth travel group just before my sophomore year of high school and i think we can all guess where i decided to study abroad when i was a junior in college. paris is one of those places where i will always feel at home and this time i was ready to do it right (aka for instagram).
