if you’ve been following me from the very beginning, you may know i went to school at the george washington university in washington, dc and every year the unofficial start to the spring season was without a doubt the annual cherry blossom festival. all over dc cherry blossoms would bloom at the end of march-early april but there was no sight like seeing all of them bloom around the tidal basin - it is truly something out of a painting! since i started my blog back in 2015, i had been able to photograph once at the blossoms but then, of course, had to move to nyc after graduation. i no longer had the easy accessibility to my favorite (and very time-sensitive) trees that i once had but i still figured that i would hop on down whenever they were to peak.Read More
these past two weeks i have had incredible things planned! i was able to persuade amanda to book a last minute trip to los angeles with me and we literally had the best time (aside from the fact that i ripped my favorite blouse #stillbitter)! we were exhausted because we shot from sunrise to sunset every day but more on all of that content later. unfortunately though, the past few days i have just been dealing with a string of bad luck and it’s put a damper on my attitude. from travel mishaps to technical issues, i’ve just wanted to curl up in a ball and cry…in fact i did that this afternoon on the phone with my mom in the back of an uber. that definitely killed my uber rating haha.Read More
is it too late to say happy new year? haha!
after taking nearly one month off (with the exception of yesterday’s post), i’m finally back and ready for action! the end of 2018 was quite the whirlwind by closing out the year with a trip to africa and 2019 has already been jam packed with so many exciting things! i promise i will be posting all about my trip to africa soon but i seriously needed to post this sequin cape because the christmas trees behind me already date these photos…oopsies!

without a doubt this is my favorite time of year: when you have the possibility of wearing a super cute coat or just the fuzziest, most oversized sweater and call it a day! and one of my go-to pairings this season has been a cropped sweater with some kind of skirt (see here from my trip to vermont!). so when i saw this sweater, i knew i wanted to pair it with another pastel hue so this skirt was just what i needed!
sweater: 3.1 phillip lim
skirt: max mara (also love this option)
shoes: kate spade (old)
bag: louis vuitton (similar here and here)
earrings: vintage chanel
sunglasses: max mara
with the craziness of my photography program, plus this crazy side hustle, i’m up to my eyeballs in work. it’s definitely a good kind of crazy but i will be the first one to tell you i need a day off! or even just a nap haha!
but i’m so happy to finally be posting one of my favorite gal meets glam dresses from the september collection…at one of my favorite spots in the west village! and while the temperatures may now be a little too cold to wear by itself, i am excited to pair this beauty with either brown or green boots and a fabulous trench! stay tuned!Read More
when in rome...one must always rent a cute vespa, wear a matching vespa dress, and ride around the colosseum like the tourist you are! around two months before i left for rome, i stumbled upon this obnoxiously adorable vespa-printed dress and immediately sent it to ashley...as i was so impressed with my find! she then quickly informed me that she, too, had purchased the dress haha! so it was fate that we wore them together for this day! we did though get a few looks when we walked into the vespa rental place.....Read More
when i was packing for my trip to rome, i knew i needed to bring some crazy comfortable pieces that i could walk around all day in...and eat copious amounts of pasta. i immediately grabbed this gal meets glam collection dress without hesitation. while i purchased it back when the gmg collection launched (as in right at 9am est on the first day haha!) and wore this dress countless times, i never actually photographed it! so i figured rome would be the perfect time for this dress to make it's debut on the blog. but for real, this dress feels like you're wearing pajamas and it's the greatest thing ever! i even convinced jenn that she needed it in her life too...it's that good!Read More
it was another painful 5:30am call time but this time ashley and i were headed to the pantheon. when i was last in rome, i merely walked past this site as the masses of people were just too much. so thankfully we were able to dedicate one of the mornings to see the pantheon in all it's glory.Read More
it has been an incredible experience living here in nyc so far. from the moment i graduated high school i knew i was going to end up in the greatest city in the world (okay biased but still). my search for an apartment began immediately when i accepted an offer from bloomingdale's to be a part of their executive program. thankfully i was familiar with the new york real estate market simply due to the two internships i had in the city prior to graduation. but this time around, i was footing the bill. and the tip too.Read More
with spring not wanting to make up its mind on whether to stay or to go, i escaped the cold by heading down to naples, florida with my family over the easter holiday! while i tried to keep this holiday weekend a real vacation (aka no blogging), the flowers had bloomed just in time for my arrival and they coincidentally matched my new dress so obviously i had to take my camera out juuuust once!Read More
faux fur is for real this season! with the temperatures hovering over freezing, i knew i couldn't beat mother nature for spring to get here so i'm compromising and strutting around town with this faux fur coat in my favorite color! perfect for the days when i want it to be spring, but it's still frigid. paring this coat with a little sequined blouse and purple pants (because duh) and i was out the door!Read More
i mean...vintage cars...do i really need to say more? the last time andrea was in charleston, she had such a fun shoot with a vintage convertible and i'm not afraid to say that i had a little fomo! so i persuaded andrea to do it all over again...but this time with yours truly. duh! we were so lucky to partner with low country valet to use "aida" for our shoot. we had so much fun pretending that it was our own and i had a hard time giving it back! with all of the original interior, i truly felt as if i had been transported back in time...and my vintage car dress definitely helped set the mood. with the perfect setting of charleston behind us, we couldn't have asked for a more picturesque scene!Read More
i think we all know i'm a sucker for pink. so when i found out i was going to be heading back to charleston, i was determined to hunt down the famous pink door! with the aid of southern expert ashley, i tracked town the door in seconds! located at 126 tradd street just south of broad, it did not disappoint! and knowing i was going to be bringing my pink bike this door served as the perfect location to compliment my ride and all of my favorite pink pieces!Read More
after two amazing but very cold trips (woodstock and kennebunkport) i was desperately in the market for some sun! so ashley, emily and i decided to head over to the cutest southern town that has been on my bucket list for as long as i can remember: savannah! while packing i knew i just needed an explosion of color and prints to really jump both feet into southern weather so this wrap skirt was one of the first pieces thrown into the suitcase. this winter has been never ending so it was incredibly refreshing to not have to wear my coat...even though i brought it just in case it got cold later in the evening! spoiler alert: it didn't. stay tuned for more posts from my trip to the south!Read More
happy first post of 2018!yeah, yeah, it's been two weeks since the new year but taking that time off has gotten me recharged and finally ready for this year! and what better way to get back into posting than featuring an accessory that i waited almost 3 months for: this stunning hand painted bag with the image of my logo! and of course a little "pret" monogram as the cherry on top of the sundae.Read More
i can't believe 2018 is just around the corner and i'm sharing my last outfit post of the year with you all! of course, in new year's fashion, it needed to involve sequins, and in true "allie" fashion, it needed to be pink! so let's all have a big "pop, fizz, clink!" and have the most amazing new year's yet!Read More
while in vienna, the one thing at the top of my to-do list was to go to the opera house. the only problem? i'm not the biggest fan of opera itself. thankfully the opera house also houses the ballet and as a former ballerina, there was no hesitation when we purchased the tickets! knowing that i would be attending the ballet at the prestigious opera house, i of course had to come up with the perfect outfit. i had originally purchased this dress as a contender for the veuve clicquot polo classic in los angeles but decided against it as it was just a little bit too formal for the occasion. i'm so thankful i saved it for vienna as i truly felt like a ballerina!Read More
next up on my paris re-do list was none other than my vacation home...err i mean the palace of versailles. the last time i visited my vacation home...ugh i did it again! the last time i visited versailles was during my first few days of studying abroad. i took the hour+ long train out with a few of my classmates and explored the palace. this instagram was even one of my favorites from the pre-blog days! this time around, andrea and i opted for the time efficient uber just a 30 minute ride outside of paris. we had originally planned to get there right as the gates opened with our pre-paid tickets in hand but our snooze buttons got the best of us! we headed out around 1:00pm and that was a mistake to say the least. we figured it would be crowded on the thursday we went but not as crowded as it actually was! our pre-paid tickets only saved us around 5-10 minutes but the waiting in line took around and hour and a half. and the photographer in me started to freak out about how much light we were actually going to have. but we definitely made it work!Read More
