the fact that i get to travel as a part of my job will forever be surreal to me. i get the opportunities to experience incredible sights and places because of my blogging and photography that i otherwise would not have seen - and many times, i have my best friends right by my side. but more often than not, followers just see the final photo that many times takes hours and hours of preparation and post production giving the illusion that traveling as a blogger is glamorous. and don’t get me wrong, i would not be doing this if i didn’t love it 110% but i think people often forget that this is a job and when i’m traveling, i am working. i will say i too sometimes will scroll through instagram and come across the perfect photo with the best lighting, location, and corresponding outfit that sometimes i assume it was all by coincidence. granted sometimes that does happen, but more often than not, photos and posts have so much more care and attention involved in them that the final image will never be able to show. with that in mind, i wanted to go a little more in-depth and share what went into this shoot and the crazy packed day that followed.Read More
is it too late to say happy new year? haha!
after taking nearly one month off (with the exception of yesterday’s post), i’m finally back and ready for action! the end of 2018 was quite the whirlwind by closing out the year with a trip to africa and 2019 has already been jam packed with so many exciting things! i promise i will be posting all about my trip to africa soon but i seriously needed to post this sequin cape because the christmas trees behind me already date these photos…oopsies!
cape: lela rose
dress: kate spade (old, last seen here)
clutch: zara (similar here)
earrings: simone rocha (similar here)
bracelets: dior, cartier

11 days until christmas and holy crap i can’t wait!
honestly, that’s all i really wanted to say and show this outfit because i’m obsessed with this dress! haha it’s seriously so comfy (no pockets though but yolo) and i’ve already worn it to a few holiday occasions this month! oh yeah, and it has a slight stretch so go crazy and eat all the foods hahaRead More
with the surplus of bloggers and influencers now controlling newsfeeds everywhere, there will always be a standout few where i constantly draw inspiration from. one of those inspirations being none other than blair eadie (who coincidentally launched her collection at nordstrom in partnership with halogen yesterday!). at the beginning of august, while hiding from the sun in the hamptons with dana, blair popped up on my feed wearing this dress and dana and i instantly knew we both needed it! and i don’t think i need to mention how easy our decision was since the dress was $95. yup $95.
within seconds…okay fine, days…i started seeing this dress appear on my feed more and more and each time i fell more and more in love with it! it seemed that everyone from petites to plus were rocking this dress and putting their own spin it: essentially making this the sisterhood of the traveling dress!Read More
springtime in new york is truly one of my favorite times of the year! ...you know, aside from fall and christmas ;) but one ues tradition that i never fail to miss are the park avenue tulips! every year the city plants a different color to make the walk up and down park avenue a little more scenic and i'm so happy they chose red this year! naturally i decided to wear my favorite spring print in celebration of the turn of the season: gingham! be prepared to see a plethora of it again this year!Read More
when dana and i decided to head to the west coast for the skagit valley tulip festival, we didn't really have anything else on our agenda except we knew we wanted to stop at the pike place market. i know, stereotypical but hey, we couldn't help it! as i mentioned here, dana and i had taken the 6am flight from new york to seattle to maximize our first day. we also wanted to feel out what this whole crazy seattle weather situation was going to be like because the forecast predicted rain every single day. but tim gunn would have been proud because we definitely made it work. we became mini al roker's because we would obsess over the hourly breakdown of the weather and constantly checked the radar for updates. any time there was a patch of good weather coming up, we ran to the location!Read More
now you couldn't think i could leave vermont without sharing the outfit that i wore overalls in could you!? i was definitely stepping outside of my comfort zone here but i figured it was about time i tried out the trend. i was nervous to actually wear them at first but once i found this pair and saw how comfy they were, i am completely on board with this trend now! and better yet, they are under $40! i decided to layer them with this fair isle sweater for the perfect winter look! now i can't wait to style these again for a more city appropriate version! hope everyone has an amazing monday!Read More
my final post from paris is here and i am a little sad about it! for our final full day in paris, i knew we needed to stop at the most iconic café in paris: café de flore. located in my old neighborhood on the boulevard saint-germain, this quaint little café has hosted some of the world's finest patrons. does ernest hemingway ring a bell? although andrea nor i are the next hemingway, we felt honored to grace this historic parisian spot! and the hot chocolate is one of my favorites in the city! paris really knows how to do hot chocolate!Read More
i hopped off the plane at lax with my boater hat and a bottle of veuve in hand...and ready to attend the eighth annual veuve clicquot polo classic in los angeles! now many of you know that dana and i are regulars at the veuve polo classic in new york city so you can imagine our excitement when we made the decision to head to the west coast! we had no idea what to expect aside from the whole "champagne" thing haha but there were definitely some differences.Read More
fall is officially here but that doesn't mean mother nature is quite caught up with the times as yesterday's temperatures were in the high 80s. ugh! so let the awkward transition period begin where all i want to wear are chunky sweaters as all of my summer dresses have been put away. sticking to darker hued dresses will be my go to option until the weather can finally cool down a bit. as soon as i saw this dress when it arrived into the store, i immediately snagged my size. i normally don't gravitate towards a sheath silhouette but seeing this print made my decision easy. and although this dress doesn't have sleeves, i knew i would be able to layer it with ease...you know, when it actually gets cold. it also comes with a matching jacket that would give me major blair waldorf vibes if they were worn together!Read More
the search is finally over! i have finally found the perfect dress to wear to a wedding. phew! i don't know why, but weddings seem to be the most stressful occasion to dress appropriately for and i can't even begin to tell you how long i have been searching for this dress! weddings are notorious for having countless rules for what the guests can and cannot wear and frankly i'm sick of it! i mean we all get the "no white" rule but did you know that you're also not supposed to wear solid black!? or bright red!? and what if the bride decides to wear blush pink? rule that color out too! and of course, never wear something that would draw attention away from the bride...if you still want to remain friends with her. i sometimes feel like the bride and groom should just pick out the guests outfit as well.Read More
hellooo embroidery! this is one of the spring and summer trends that i am fully on board for and kate spade is clearly all for it as well! there are countless pieces in the spring and summer kate collections that feature the trend and this dress was just one of the many! when i was able to look at the collection preview last year, i instantly took a screenshot of this dress and have been counting down the days until i could place it in my closet. a few weeks ago i was finally able to try it on and it did not disappoint! i also ended up getting this top from the collection with similar detailing and i wear it to work all the time!Read More
